ith a slew of chart-topping hits and a catalog that spans over two decades, it’s no surprise that Blake Shelton didn’t have a chance to release all of his favorite tunes as radio singles throughout the years.

On Wednesday (June 29), the country superstar and Oklahoma native took to social media to share a clip of a song that he admits he regrets not releasing as a single.

“Back in the day I wanted this song to be a single so bad I put it on 2 different albums,” Shelton captioned the clip. ”We never got to it and I still regret it. Thought I’d dig it out for y’all. It’s called ‘I Don’t Care.’”

Strumming an acoustic guitar, Shelton performed the song for fans.

“I don’t care. / She don’t matter / I don’t love her anymore, he can have her! / I don’t know why it slips my mind, / I tell myself all the time; / Guess I forgot again for a second there; / That I don’t care,” Shelton sang on the chorus of the tune.

Fans flocked to the comments section to share their excitement over the acoustic performance.

“This song is real deal country tear jerker,” wrote one Instagram user, while another declared, “
This would be a number one!”

Co-written by Casey Beathard and Dean Dillon, “I Don’t Care” first appeared on Shelton’s 2007 album, Pure BS. The song later appeared on Shelton’s 2008 project, Startin’ Fires.

Shelton, whose current single at country radio is “Come Back As A Country Boy,” recently joined forces with Zac Brown Band to reimagine their single “Out In The Middle” as a duet.

The Oklahoma native also teamed up with his longtime friend Carson Daly to launch a new celebrity game show on the USA Network called Barmageddon. The show, taking place in Shelton’s Downtown Nashville bar, Ole Red, will feature Daly as a bartender and Shelton as live entertainment alongside the bar’s house band.

“With Daly behind the bar and Shelton taking the stage with his house band for live music singalongs in front of a rowdy crowd, both the icons and celebrity favorites show a new side to themselves in this anything but ordinary game show,” a statement about the show read.

Hosted and led by WWE Hall of Famer Bella, “celebrity friends go head-to-head in a series of classic bar games with a fun twist, including air cannon cornhole, keg curling, drunken axe hole, sharts (‘Shelton darts’) and many more.” “The games are bigger, the antics are louder, and the competition is ludicrous in the best way,” the statement continued.

Additionally, Blake Shelton recently began filming Season 22 of NBC’s The Voice with his fellow ‘Voice’ coaches Gwen Stefani, John Legend and the newly-added Camila Cabello.

The Voice will return to NBC for Season 22 on Monday, September 19.
